The Training Materials

The GOAL/QPC Lean Six Sigma (LSS) training materials have evolved over the course of nearly two decades as a result of feedback from thousands of students, suggestions from scores of colleagues, and refinements from the primary author’s experience about what works in hundreds of practical LSS training sessions. The materials have been used in classroom trainings, online trainings, and in training videos. They have served as reference materials for thousands of successful LSS practitioners.

The contents of this comprehensive training package are aligned with commonly accepted standards and bodies of knowledge for Lean Six Sigma Black Belts, Green Belts, and Yellow Belts and have met rigorous criteria that helped qualify GOAL/QPC as an IASSC-accredited training curriculum provider. The package is made up of 40 distinct training modules for individual or group study, 31 data worksheets for use in module exercises, 56 tool templates for successful LSS implementation post training, and access to certification practice/final tests to confirm your newly acquired knowledge.

As organizations and their processes evolve, associated problems and their causes become more complex. Addressing these complex problems requires that they be approached from multiple perspectives. Integral Lean Six Sigma takes process improvement to the next level by approaching problems through the four quadrants identified by Integral theory. The integral framework operates in two dimensions: interior/exterior and individual/group. This training describes Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools within the Integral framework. Students benefit from this training approach by getting a complete grounding in each topic from the four major Integral perspectives:

Moreover, students benefit by being better prepared for certification, because certification is an acknowledgement (interior-group) that they have attained a certain level of knowledge (interior-individual), skill (exterior-individual), and achievement (exterior-group).

The 31 data worksheets provide you with example data you can use to practice your understanding of each training module as you progress through the course.

The 56 tool templates are mostly spreadsheets and typically contain two worksheets, a blank template of the tool and a worked example. Using these templates, you can see what it should look like when you have finished and you can start your specific data analysis with a tried and tested blank template. This will save you time and effort in developing your own template. It will also reinforce the learning and ensure that you are using the tool correctly for successful LSS implementation post training.

The certification practice tests enable you to test your new Lean Six Sigma knowledge and/or prepare for a Six Sigma certification test. You can take unlimited practice tests and experience a timed certification test when and where it is convenient for you. Discover your particular strengths and weaknesses in the DMAIC categories and get specific references to help you cover any knowledge gaps. Grow in confidence as you build your skills, take follow up tests, and check your progress. At any time, you can decide to take the final test and achieve your GOAL/QPC Lean Six Sigma certification.

This comprehensive training package will build your knowledge and skills in the important Lean Six Sigma domain. You will be able to use these tools and techniques to your benefit and the benefit of your entity for many years into the future.
